Hot Stone Lower Leg & Foot Massage – €75 (40 mins)
Evidence of the use of hot stones has been around for centuries. They have been used to ease out tired aching muscles, reduce pain, swelling and used as healing tools to help restore balance.
Hot Stone Lower Leg and Foot Massage use both heated stones and Swedish massage moves to create a unique treatment. The stones allow the therapist to work deeper into the muscle fibres without it being as painful as a deep tissue massage. It allow the muscles to relax into their natural resting position allowing free movement, less pain and better flexibility in that area.
This treatment is fantastic for anyone who suffers from leg cramps or stands all day for a living and it is also fabulous for new mums to help reduce swelling and aching lower legs.
Your therapist will begin with you lying face down so that she can work on the calf muscles. She will apply the massage oil to the leg and warm it up by using manual massage movements. Once the leg is warmed up, she will introduce the hot stones. Using the stones will help boost circulation in the area, ease out any tight muscle fibres and reduce any pain held in the calf. Once the calf has been thoroughly massaged, your therapist will move down to the ankle and the base of the foot. So many people hold tension in the heel or ball of the foot and this can actually be why they get cramps in the calf as these little muscles on the feet become tight.
By using the stones we loosen out the foot, this is many clients’ favourite part of the treatment. One the foot has been worked on your therapist will ask you to turn over to face up. She will then pop small heated stone between your toes to boost the circulation to this area too. She will work along the front and side of the leg all the way up the foot and even onto the toes. This reinforces the work done to the back of the leg and again helps improve circulation, reduce swelling and pain.
This fabulous treatment is wonderful at the end of a long day just put your feet up and let us do the rest!
